Lord Medrigora, the Flame Crusader
Tumblr media
Medrigora once was a hand maiden for Queen Sophesia, but in seeing the Queen's denial- no- her willful ignorance to the corruption of her king she reached her breaking point. Sophesia's blind love for Bramis was to be the doom of their kingdom.
Fueled by outrage, Medrigora made a pact with Adyr, the very source of the corruption, in exchange for power to rival that of Bramis. As a Rhogar Lord of Adyr, she vowed to act as the Flame Crusader, the one destined to put a stop to the madness at Castle Bramis, and ultimately, Adyr.
In her endeavor to put an end to the foul corruption of Mournstead the Crusader came upon an Umbral lamp which granted her even more dreadful powers to aid her quest.
Will these choices which cast soot upon her soul be worth it in the end?
Or will these inescapable choices all be in vain?

If Adyr was a chaos god in the WH40K universe he’d get the Tzeentch treatment of getting ganged up on by the other gods, because he offers no downside to his gifts.
Power, brains, beauty, and the love of a God who actually cares.

Guys I'm so torn 😭
I miss BG3 but I'm also stuck hyperfixated on Lords of the Fallen. I spent the entire day just staring at the TV bc I feel guilty I'm not playing BG3 but also
fuck I love lotf-
the world building is impeccable, the characters are so beautifully tragic, the throwbacks to the first game are peak, Harkyn's hammer🥵..
Judge.
Cleric.
Need I say more?
Tumblr media
I literally already speedran the game once in one night waiting for my friend to wake up and then started Ng+ and have actually worked my way almost entirely through that as well. I've accidentally levelled well over 100 despite the co-op party only being about midway through the game, oops, my pal is still like 67 and I think I'm 132?
I'm so painfully hooked on this game and it's lore and it sucks me back in every six months or so. I'll be back to regular posting eventually. For now I'm trying to keep bg3 content flowing by reboggling memes and such.

So, as you might have noticed, I've been playing Lords of the Fallen (great game btw) and I have a few thoughts on one of the bosses, the Lightreaper.
Tumblr media
This guy has appeared thrice for me now (I just completed Revelation Depths and the Fief of the Chill Curse), and from what I've read (yes, I love spoiling myself), he also appears a fourth time, as a proper, respawning boss in that instance.
So, Rhogar (the demons in the setting) are not capable of true free will, as they are intrinsically tied to their god, Adyr. But according to the description of one of the Lightreaper's drops:
"Existing only to carry out the will of their creator, no Rhogar has ever truly known peace, but only the Lightreaper feels the inescapable, gnawing hunger which would compel him to seek out lampbearers even if he did not do so at Adyr’s command."
Which I take to mean that, while perhaps not all Rhogar have free will, the Lightreaper could have it, it's just that, because of the gnawing need to possess the Umbral Lamp, he literally doesn't care for anything else, and so he hounds our character, in a desperate bid to obtain his prize.
I feel like something that something that supports this free will... heacanon? is the way he taunts our predecessor in the intro cutscene: he is so close to obtaining what he needs, so he takes the time to mock the Dark Crusader's failure. Someone without free will wouldn't take the time to do something that contributed nothing to its mission, something only done to cause petty pain. Not only that, but as far as I've gotten, no other Rhogar (such as the Ruiner boss) takes the time to mock anyone, they just kill and destroy what's in front of them.
Of course, there's the other part of the description, which heavily implies (if not outright states) that the Lightreaper isn't just mindlessly following its hunger; it's following Adyr's orders. While this could refute the free will thing, I feel that, because the Lightreaper was created by Adyr, he feels respect (and perhaps familial love?) for his creator, and willingly obeys Adyr's orders, even without the hunger as a failsafe, should the Reaper ever desert.
So, in the end, the Iron Wayfarer is the real MVP, since he was the one to save the Lamp from the Lightreaper's hands.
The situation also reminds me of some from the Souls series and Elden Ring, where you can't ally yourself with a certain character despite following an ending that directly benefits that character, simply because they're a boss. All of this to say, I should be allowed to spare this freak when doing the Inferno ending >:( Hexworks, let me have the sadist boi

Lords of the fallen
Lords of the fallen is a game that story revolves around the conflict of 2 gods, Adyr and Orius. Before the main event of the story the evil god Adyr was banished to the Rhogar Realm by Orius and his followers who also constructed massive beacons to keep Adyr in place. as the player you have to choose which god you wish to side with during the the game to determine on what will happen at the end.
I also love the world building in this game as it create that dark fantasy that I want for my characters background he will be standing on. I also think that I could add in a minor detail that might make the feel of him trying to contain the dark and light force by having his chest cracked revealing a combination of the light and dark forces leaking out but that's an idea I might have to come up quickly due to the amount of time I have left.

Lords Of The Fallen 'Season Of Revelry' Includes New Quests, Weapons, Spells, Armor, And More
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/lords-of-the-fallen-season-of-revelry-includes-new-quests-weapons-spells-armor-and-more/
Lords Of The Fallen 'Season Of Revelry' Includes New Quests, Weapons, Spells, Armor, And More
Tumblr media
Developer Hexworks and publisher CI Games have launched the Season of Revelry in its RPG Soulslike, Lords of the Fallen. This festive update includes new quests, weapons, armor, spells, snowball fights, and more, and it’s available right now. Plus, it’s only part one of this free two-part update, with Trial of the Three Spirits launching next week on December 21.
Tumblr media
As for what to expect in this Season of Revelry part one update, which Hexworks is calling Offerings of Orius, it includes quite a lot:
Six new spells: These spells include Immolation, Radiant Shield Throw, and Holy Arrow Shot.
Three new projectiles: Players can now throw Blood Vomit, Explosive Mines, and Frost Worms at foes from a distance.
New boss weapon abilities: Players can now unlock powerful abilities for all boss weapons obtained after defeating bosses.
Seasonal decorations: Hexworks says the Vestiges of Mournstead (the bonfires of this game, essentially) have been adorned with festive decorations for the Season of Revelry.
Tumblr media
On December 21, the Trial of the Three Spirits update will go live. It includes three new questlines, three new armor sets, and three new weapons, each representing one of three gods: Orius’ Radiance, Adyr’s Rhogars, and the mysterious Umbral. Plus, players will be able to change their character’s name, body shape and gender, skin tone, hair color, and other physical attributes, but only after completing a new quest to find the shards of the Mirror of Distortion.
Elsewhere in the Trial of the three Spirits, players will be able to use new Grievous Attacks. Hexworks says every family of weapon has two unique finishers – one for single-handed wielding and one for dual wielding. Another community-sought request coming in this update is a storage box that allows players to deposit up to 2000 items in the Skyrest Bridge Coffer.
Finally, players will be able to rebind gamepad buttons starting with the Trial of the Three Spirits update, and they can launch snowballs at enemies and invaders using the new Snowball throwable.
Tumblr media
After this update, Hexworks says content will continue to hit Lords of the Fallen in 2024 with the rollout “of the remaining new features and enhancements laid out in the content plan announced last month.” This includes refinements to PvP and PvE, the release of a New Game Plus modifier system, and more.
Tumblr media
Lords of the Fallen hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 13, 2023, and part one of the Season of Revelry – Offerings of Orius – is live in-game right now.
For more, read Game Informer’s Lords of the Fallen review, and then read about the upcoming questlines, events, and more coming to the Soulslike. Check out this Lords of the Fallen patch that made the game easier and added crossplay after that.

Victarion's dynamic with Tancred will always be my favorite part of his entire story. Don't get me wrong, it's inherently manipulative (Vic locking him in the basement away from everything, claiming that it's for his own good because the world is no longer the realm of the Sentinels) and sinister in that how Vic absolutely employed love bombing to get him on his side, they are both absolutely garbage men who still deserve each other.
Like, ffs, Tancred's a goddamn inquisitor (Lord Inquisitor/Master of Castigations) and the living embodiment of a dumpsterfire, deluding himself into believing that everything he's done was for the good of the world, bloodthirsty and has no qualms about butchering anyone for the name of Orius, while being a master at the art of torture to ensure their agony would last. Victarion himself is a former mercenary turned Champion of Adyr/Prince of Hell who serves only himself/Adyr in most circumstances (sure, he has lines he wouldn't cross), a man who saw only the means to an end and morals be fucking damned.
Both of them are horrendous men, and Tancred later evolves to a almost Ted Bundy like figure when he fully accepts his position as Victarion's second in command: cold, heartless, merciless man who could butcher entire generations without giving three fucks.
I love those war crime husbands, man.
((Side note, I want to do a bit of a deepdive on Vic's rules and beliefs, because they are interesting, like how he thinks anyone who takes advantage of others - no matter what way - are insecure sheep who in reality are scared cowards trying to use it to assert their delusions, shit that he fucking HATES since he clawed his way to the top from the very bottom of the societal pyramid: fear is fleeting, it will never earn true loyalty, and true power comes from earning the loyalty of those around you instead of putting your boot on their neck [COUGH JUDGE CLERIC COUGH].))

Lords of the Fallen: Lit Gameplay Trailer, Epic Bosses, and an Immersive World
Lords of the Fallen dropped a lit gameplay trailer, plus that hella stylish video with Iron Maiden jams that came out earlier this year. They're showing off some heavy-duty combat and mega gnarly bosses, and I'm low-key praying they're as slick and intricate as the Soulslikes that HexWork is trying to copy. And OMG, did you peep that bizarre screeching skeleton egg monster straight-up meeting itself onto the player character? Total mind-blowing stuff, fam! Lords of the Fallen drops us into a whole new realm, like, over a thousand years after the epic showdown in the first game. This time, we're diving into a massive interconnected world that's, like, five times bigger than the OG game. Total game-changer, right? And if you're eager to dive into this expanded gaming world, don't forget to explore where to buy PS4 games to make the most of your adventure.
Tumblr media
This game is packed with NPC quests, tons of cool characters, and a super immersive story. First thing, you'll create your hero before diving into the single-player action. But wait, there's more! You can also team up with a buddy for some epic online co-op action without any interruptions. And guess what? Hexworks, the studio behind this awesomeness, is led by the main dude, Saul Gascon. They came to life in 2020 and have, like, a squad of over 75 in-house developers and a bunch of outside peeps they work with. By the way, if you're interested in learning more about Saul Gascon and his team's gaming creations, you can also explore where to buy PS4 games and experience their gaming prowess firsthand.
Tumblr media
Exploring a Massive Semi-Open World and Dual Realms
Lords of the Fallen drops you into this massive semi-open world, and in their latest video, they give us a sneak peek at some of the wild and intense spots you'll be exploring on your epic mission to take down Adyr, the demon God. And here's the cool part – you can choose your adventure style when it comes to which areas you wanna tackle first, 'cause they're all connected to at least two others. But wait, there's more! This RPG is next-level 'cause you're not just surviving in one world – you're rocking two thanks to the game's rad dual realm feature. Lords of the Fallen takes you to the dope Axiom, right? But there's also this spooky place called Umbral, which is the undead version of Axiom. Each realm has its crazy paths, wicked enemies, rad characters, and, of course, epic loot. With the Umbral Lamp, you can teleport to Umbral whenever you want, but it'll cost you one of your two lives. If you kick the bucket in the living realm, you'll respawn in the same spot, but in the undead realm, for one last shot at staying alive. But let me tell you, the odds ain't gonna be in your favor. By the way, speaking of odds, if you're in the market for some new gaming experiences, you might want to explore where to buy PS4 games for a chance to discover some hidden gems.
Tumblr media
Co-op Action at Vestiges and Crafting Skills
Lords of the Fallen brings some fresh deets in the Extended Gameplay Presentation, fam. Now, peep this: when you wanna squad up with a homie for co-op action, all you gotta do is hit up a chill in-game rest spot. You can either roll with your day one or get matched up with a random player. Your co-op buds got your back until one of you says "Peace out." And here's the real sauce: you can flex your crafting skills and make your vestiges, but it's gotta be in super-specific spots and you need some mega-rare resources to pull it off.
Tumblr media
Lords of the Fallen: The animation feels kinda meh, just like in the OG game, but the combat vibes are lit, yo. The SFX is kinda rough, but hopefully, it'll be on fleek in-game. At 8:28, it's straight-up LOL-worthy. Realm jumping is low-key cool, but I'm low-key worried it might mess up the level design, you know? Not feeling the world and vibes, and where are the characters?

The Cleric, Saviour of Man - The Lords of The Fallen
Millennia ago, the Cleric was one of three all-powerful beings who led those that dared to hope, in a cataclysmic war against the demon God, Adyr. Together, they overthrew man's tyrannical overlord.
Henceforth, these supreme champions were known as the Judges.

So I finished Lords of the Fallen...
It was fucking good (spoilers below the cut!)
Shame that Adyr was literally just Deacons of the Deep first phase as an entire boss fight though LMAO
But yeah, I noticed something that makes me have thoughts and feelings (again involving the Lightreaper lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two are fucking foils.
Two beings intrinsecally tied to Umbral, who have been made to serve two opposite gods. Both have an Umbral Parasite. They both try to kill you, but where the Lightreaper keeps on trying to kill you time after time, Pieta has a "revelation" and thinks you a chosen of her god, so she aids you instead. (They both also have extra limbs LMAO)
And in the end, they're both fiercely loyal to their master.
Despite the implication that Adyr fears and perhaps even loathes the Lightreaper, he keeps on serving Adyr, loyal to a fault to his imposed mission and to his creator, even beyond his gnawing need for the Umbral Lamp.
Pieta, on the other hand, was indoctrinated by the Church of Orius/Hallowed Sentinels, who mistook her Umbral nature to be favor from Orius. And in her post fight cutscene, it is implied that Orius favors her enough to revive her, despite her nature. Plus, her blood, combined with the Saintly Quintessences, is what heals you through Sanguinarix, though it is debatable if her blood has healing properties because of her nature or because of Orius. My point being, unlike the Lightreaper, who is loyal because he was made to be that way, despite his master fearing him, Pieta is loyal because of a combination of indoctrination and favor from her own master.
And that's not even the only time that loyalty comes up. There's also Dervla and her loyalty to the Umbral child/Unbroken Promise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dervla, who once was like Paladin Isaac, only loyal to Exacter Dunmire (for Awful reasons) and to the Dark Crusaders, found new purpose in protecting the child, turning her loyalty towards them, and this loyalty was clearly reciprocated, considering the Promise fuses with her corpse, just to allow her a second chance to kill the Lampbearer.
Tumblr media
And, as I mentioned before, Isaac was loyal to the Dark Crusaders, and to Orius, even apologizing for being about to get killed by the Lightreaper.
Tumblr media
(Excuse the crappy quality)
But yeah, I just go so fucking feral over loyalty themes. So yeah, that's it for now, the catastrophic tism event has passed, toodles!
